Architecture Neo-gothic allure

The Qvest Architecture

Architecture Neo-gothic allure

The neo-gothic property preserves its historical 1897 charm, while integrating contemporary design elements.

The careful preservation of original architectural features, such as high ceilings, pointed arches, and intricate stonework, maintains the building’s historical integrity, along with stained glass windows, wooden staircases, and ornate moldings. Each of the 38 rooms and suites are cut differently and furnished with individual character, while also showing sensitivity to the building’s history. The hotel features a stylish library filled with art books and design magazines, offering a quiet and inspiring space for guests to relax and explore.

Interior design Michael Kaune

Like a showroom, the hotel holds a number of iconic pieces by majors like Eames, Panton, van der Rohe, and Le Corbusier.

Designer, owner, and art collector Michael Kaune provides guests with a gallery-like experience, with statement art and design pieces dotted all throughout the interior. Find Verner Panton’s playful “Living Tower” in one of the rooms, lamps by Greta Grossman, and a striking vintage brass and bluestone front desk. Some of the suites feature six-meter-high cross vaults, while the Salon Suite boasts a hand painted medieval wooden ceiling from 1390.
