Referencing the traditional staggered look of local architecture and the porous landscape of Santorini, the hotel’s standalone structures organically follow the natural slope of the ground.

The “burnt” timber cladding that unifies the architectural look of the hotel directly relates to the island’s volcanic environment. Wall paintings depicting a river and a subtropical landscape call to mind the far-off places sailors from ancient Thira visited during their travels. A Nerium grove, dubbed “The Oasis” and filled with palms and exotic and local plantings, surrounds the pool and central public areas. Here, one senses a move away from mass and speed, towards space, experiences, connections, and slowness.

The guestrooms’ color palette take inspiration from the natural earthy, reddish, and grayish shades of the island’s famous beaches: Vlychada, Ammoudi, and Kamari.

The hotel presents casual elegance, not overwhelming luxury, to enhance its connect-to-place-and-the-moment themes and outdoor experiences. Lighting designer Elefetheria Deco creatively adds mood to spaces through the fluctuating intensity and direction of light. The materials in the rooms, such as willow shutters and the specially designed floors, take inspiration from the island’s porous, volcanic landscape.
