Carpentry in solid cedar wood and a choice of cotton linens offer guests comfort in the stately manner of the 19th century. With its stylish use of local materials, such as hand-fabricated cement tiles and chucum stucco, Rosas & Xocolate allows guests to fully experience the Old World charm of the Yucatan peninsula and escape into a subtly decadent and delicious sea of passion.

The hotel won Architectural Digest’s “Iconos del Diseño 2011” for the best architectural restoration in Mexico.

The haute-pueblo building was designed and restored by architect Salvador Reyes Rios and his partner, Josefina Larrain. The couple perfectly melded the rustic elegance of the property’s two historic mansions with modern accoutrements, such as state-of-the-art entertainment systems and open-sky bathtubs for those who desire indulgence under the stars.
